Share our passion for Nature, History and breathtaking scenery and climb aboard our 16 seater “go anywhere” Mercedes Unimog and experience the Isle of Arran from a different level.
“Mogabout” is dedicated to bringing the great outdoors closer to you and will take you on a journey of discovery into the magnificent hills and forests of the Isle of Arran. Explore the beautiful and diverse environment to great heights in the company of an experienced Ranger. This unforgettable experience will take you on a journey of discovery exploring forest tracks and iconic sites such as Glenashdale falls, tumbling 140ft to the gorge below. From the viewing platform you will have the opportunity to photograph these magnificent falls. The Giants graves are only a few minutes drive where you will see a 5000 year old chambered cairn. From this point you will witness spectacular open views over the village of Whiting Bay towards Goatfell in the North and the Firth of Clyde to the East.
Forestry Commission Scotland’s forests and woodlands are owned by the nation. They are managed to produce and supply timber, conserve wildlife and habitats and provide a range of recreation opportunities. Your “Mogabout” Ranger will point out the cycle of the working forests and you will hopefully get the opportunity to view the harvesting areas first hand from the safety of the Mercedes Unimog vehicle. The Forestry Commission Scotland strive to improve the wildlife habitat opportunities which enable the public to get close to wildlife such as birds of prey, red squirrels and the majestic red deer that freely roam around the Island.
Each journey will be unique and hopefully will live on in your memory as the high point of your stay on the Isle of Arran.
